JUNGANGTAP
Central stupa with a 7-storey stone stupa dating from 780, raised in the middle of the Silla kingdom, a stele to be seen to the north.
Here is a 7-storey stone stupa from 780. It was raised in the middle of the kingdom of Silla, hence its name'stupa of the centre '. When we look at a map of the country, we realize that the calculation was quite accurate. 14,5 m high is one of the highest stupas of this time.
A little more north, a few kilometres away, is a stele commemorating a battle delivered in this place in the Fifth century by the kingdom of Goguryeo against its neighbours. It marks the limit of the largest expansion of the kingdom of Goguryeo to the south.
