Ruins of the Mireuska temple featuring a 10 m-high stone statue of Mireuk, typical of the Goryeo style.
According to legend, Prince Maeui and his sister Princess Deokju left Seorabeol (Gyeongju) at the fall of Silla to retreat to the Geumgangsan Mountains. They stopped there and both had the same dream of founding a temple there. That's what they did. There is still a stone statue of Mireuk, typical of the Goryeo style, 10 m high. His head is more worked than the body and, oddly enough, it is naturally clean.
