GUINSA TEMPLE
Temple founded in 1945 by the monk Sangwol Wongak, who re-established the Cheontae sect, housing a huge golden Buddha on the top floor.
Very large temple was founded in 1945 by the monk Sangwol Wongak who re-established the Cheontae sect, which had disappeared in Korea. This temple is quite interesting because of the size of its buildings. You can get an idea of the number of monks who reside there and of the faithful who visit it by seeing the kimchi pots on the terraces and roofs. The concrete buildings were made with art, especially the 5-storey main hall. Unique of its kind, it houses a huge golden Buddha on the top floor. Moreover, the temple is in a beautiful site, at the bottom of a deep and narrow valley.
