The Haenyo are a group of women who practice underwater fishing without oxygen. In order to live, they sell their fish and shellfish afterwards. Sometimes in their eighties, these women command respect. They are a rarity that can only be found in Jeju and this museum pays tribute to them beautifully. We discover photos of their activities but also the different objects they use as well as reconstructions. This museum is really very interesting to discover the local culture and visiting it is highly recommended.
