SANGUMBURI CRATER
One of the island's volcanic peaks and the widest at 600 m in diameter, the crater is the result of gas emissions rather than lava.
This crater is one of the many volcanic peaks of the island (there are no less than 360). It was an auxiliary crater of Mount Halla, and it is not very high, only 15 to 20 m above the plain, because it results from gas emissions and not from lava. However, it is the largest crater on the island, with a diameter of 600 meters and a depth of 100 meters. It is located on the eastern plateau which is absolutely splendid. The site is wonderfully beautiful, with landscapes strangely reminiscent of those found in Scotland.
