CEMETERY OF THE MARTYRS OF THE REVOLUTION
The visit to this cemetery is not always foreseen in the tours that are organized by travel agencies, as it is not considered as a "must". It is the last home of heroes of the North Korean homeland who died during the revolution against Japanese and American imperialism. Each tombstone is topped by a bronze bust depicting the deceased hero, supposedly at least (it would mean that a photo of each person buried on the spot was available at the time... we can hardly believe it). The most observant will see that the stelae have several dates, usually three or four depending on what is known, which correspond to the birth, the entry into the resistance, the adherence to the party and the death of the person. At the top is the most flowered tomb and the most visited one by the population: it is that of Kim Il-Sung's wife who was raised to the rank of mother of the fatherland. The visit is worth visiting for those who have time, especially for the viewpoint on Kumsusan Sun Palace and the city.
