FOLK HOTEL (HÔTEL DU PEUPLE)
The folk Hotel which is for tourists only, is built in the purest Korean tradition. The nineteen small houses with a Hanok style yard date from the end of the Joseon period (1392-1897), and feature 50 rooms, sometimes furnished with antique furniture. In winter, the floor is heated. Each room is equipped with typical Korean beds "Ondol", i.e. a mattress (kind of futon) on the floor which is not so unpleasant. For those occupying a room for two may also use a couch. Single rooms are a bit small while rooms for two are like small apartments. The hotel has hot water and air conditioning at irregular hours; so try to be informed about the matter. Don’t be surprised by the basin in the bathroom, it is useful when the water is not very hot... Note that there may be some power cuts. A small shop within the hotel offers some typical local items.
