PUYONG LODGE

Built around the year 1500, the temple was unfortunately completely destroyed during the Korean War but was rebuilt after 1953. The lotus season is the best time to visit and appreciate the beauty of the place, built on stone pillars in the middle of a lake which is covered with these plants. The place is so beautiful that it is considered as a national treasure. According to a legend, the local population could not sleep because of the noise of the frogs that populated the pond in the old days. Many complaints were then sent to General Nam. Taking the matter seriously, he wrote a note on a piece of paper that he then threw into the lake, silencing the animals forever. But we were not able to know what he had written!
