LA BELLE MAISON

The main exhibition area of this establishment is devoted to furniture, but also to the craft productions of the «Akeza» workshops in Bujumbura, Bukeye and Kayanza, where young people, Batwa and women are trained in the manufacture of vanneries, pottery and rattan objects. It was Consolata Ndayishimiye who initiated these workshops to increase the economic power of the weakest. An enterprising woman, she is also the owner of the Barbecue - one of the best restaurants in the city, closed for renovation in 2012 - and successively presided over the Association des Femmes d'affaires du Burundi (BUSINESSWOMEN) and the Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burundi (CFCIB).
