Econet Wireless Burundi (code 76), a subsidiary of a Southern African telecommunications group, started operations in the country in 2009, succeeding the Spacetel operator. Its network originally covered 15 provinces, but then expanded. The launch of Econet services supported the promotion of an original solar battery phone. Today, you can get a 3 G key to approximately 70 000 OFI, and surf the Internet quickly (scratch recharge card).
