INSTITUT FRANÇAIS DU BURUNDI (IFB)
The IFB, often known as the "CCF" (French Cultural Centre, the name changed in 2010), is one of the city's major cultural sites. On the ground floor you can find the exhibition (cinema) and exhibition rooms (programme on request or on the website), as well as the auditorium where theatrical performances, films or conferences are given. The bar-restaurant in the courtyard («L'Exchequer») is lively, with a good atmosphere. On the first floor, close to the administrative services, is the library (20 000 references) and the TV spaces (TV 5 in continuous), current (international press, including the World) and multimedia (CD ROM and DVD, high-speed Internet connection).
The IFB also provides French courses and, by 3-month session (27 h), courses in Kiswahili and Kirundi.
