KAMENGE YOUTH CENTRE (CJK)
Created in 1992 in the heart of a neighbourhood hit by civil war, this «haven of peace» is now a true national institution. Led by Father Claudio Marano, who has known Burundi since 1981, he welcomes young people, especially the peripheral neighbourhoods in the northern part of the city, regardless of ethnicity, religion or gender. Dozens of activities are proposed: library, games and entertainment room, film projections, sport, but also concerts, conferences, seminars, contests, concert… This experience is an incredible success, which must be welcomed. There is a program of activities available on request and on the website.
