Fruits and vegetables make the richness and notoriety of Bugarama. It is a festival of colours, shapes and flavours in this supermarket of market products. Outside the points of sale that we meet just before the Carrefour junction, coming from Buja (at a place where the road turns and forces vehicles to slow) and at the crossroad itself, one last site deserves a visit. It is located on the road to Bukeye (RN 1), at the height of Kavumu, approximately 5 km from Bugarama (RN 1): it's what's called the'mwami waters '. It is particularly beautiful: the vineyards are located on the bottom side, on the edge of a mountain from which natural fountains are springing up the atmosphere. Here, on the edge of the Kibira, you can find vegetables, fruit and forest mushrooms (ubwoba).
Side of the green side is aubergines (urutore), beans (igiharage), carrots (amakaroti), cabbage (amashu), small peas (ubushaza), onions and garlic (ibitunguru), or vermillon red tomatoes (inyanya), or even without exhausting the list, lettuce (amasaladi), leeks (ipuwaro), squash (umwungu), piments (ipilipili)… there are bananas of all sizes (ibitoke, small ones), oranges to swallow on site (icungwa), grenadilles (ibungo), Cape Currants (umuhuhu), and cinnamon apples (amufe), plums of Japan, strawberries. Good appetite!
