MONT SONGA

The promenade of Mount Songa, which overlooks the city of Gitega at more than 2 000 metres above sea level, is easy and offers, at the end of the road, a beautiful panorama of 360 degrees across the region. To get there, we borrow at the beginning the asphalt road in the direction of Rutana (just over 5 km from the city centre, which can be browsed in a car that is so challenging), and then, almost in front of the coffee factory, you borrow the track that climbs on the left. The jusu walk at the top, which lasts a little over an hour, is perfectly accessible, even to amateur walkers.
