You can cross the border to enter Rwanda at the position 10 km after Rugombo on the RN 5. Buses and minibuses make the journey daily (from Bujumbura, Cibitoke or Rugombo). It is then approximately 140 kilometres from the cities of Cyangugu in Rwanda and Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, both of which are located at the southern tip of Lake Kivu (approximately km from Bujumbura).
