EXCURSION TO LAKES KANZIGIRI AND RWERU

This tour will take you to the Kanzigiri and Rweru lakes. Much less known and visited than their little brother Le Lake («Lake aux Oiseaux»), the landscape is equally beautiful. You can go back to the day or sleep in the lodge on the banks of Lake Kanzigiri. By the routes indicated, count 2 hours of slopes to go, much less to return through the gourdronnée road. Take the RN 14 which leaves north-east of Kirundo towards Busoni. At the level of Nyabibugu, take RP 314 direction Bwambarangwe, then northward towards Buhoro (at this level the lake will be indicated). When you arrive, you can cross the monkeys who live on the shores of Lake Kanzigiri. In the north of the lake, the panorama on Lake Rweru is magnificent (both lakes communicate by the marshes). For the return, take RP 63 by passing through Gatere to reach the Road RN 14 which pique south towards Kirundo (20 minutes drive back).
