AMAHORO CENTRE
Inaugurated on 3 August 2012, this cultural centre was launched on the initiative of Stéphanie Mbanzendore, a Burundi resident in the Netherlands who is the Legal Representative of the Foundation «Burundian Women for Peace Development (BWPD)». We can only welcome this dynamic and constructive project, in a region rather relegated to culture and education. The centre has a library and library of 10 000 books with educational vocation (2-week teacher loans), novels (French and English literature), scientific books (mathematics, physics, biology…) and comics for adults and children. At the bottom of this library, on the mezzanine, there is a large hall dedicated to the projection of films, exhibitions, concerts, lectures, theatre and storytelling shows; and on the side, a training room in languages, computer science and science. Public computers and Internet access are being installed.
You can access the Amahoro centre either by the road of Rwanda or by Kigozi; a blue-letter blue sign shows every time to turn.
