KINGSTON PARISH CHURCH
Church on the south side of Kingston's Parade, featuring a remarkable statue of St. Mary and organ dating from 1722.
On the south side of the Parade, the white church replaced the original church built in 1699 and destroyed in 1907 by that famous earthquake that caused great damage. This one was built in 1911 as an exact replica of the destroyed one, and on its foundations. Only the bell tower was added after the First World War in memory of the dead. The organ, which is still functioning, dates from 1722. Inside, you can see the statue of Saint Mary offered by the Chinese community and the statue of Saint Thomas offered by the Syrian community.
