VALE ROYAL
A sumptuous residence built by Sir William Taylor in Kingston, the current home of Jamaica's Prime Minister.
Built by the richest man in the country, Sir William Taylor, in the early 18th century, this sumptuous mansion was called Prospect Pen, and belonged to several generations of one of the island's wealthiest slave-owning planter families, who ended up ruined when slavery was abolished. The property was finally purchased by the British colonial government in 1928. Today it is the residence of the Prime Minister of Jamaica. Obviously, it can only be admired through the gates that protect it.
