A small zoo and amusement park for children in Kingston, a good place to visit to discover a variety of animals and plants.

Richard Hope, an officer in Cromwell's army, established his 17th-century estate here. The 80-hectare gardens date back to 1881, when the government bought the property. With plant displays, botanical research, orchids, cacti, a small zoo and a children's amusement park, this is a place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of Kingston. The zoo is home to iguanas, crocodiles, lots of tropical birds and even a lion, which may be debatable with its image as an "animal rescue" center. Lunch available at Hungry Hut, dinner at Serengeti Bistrot.
