WILLIAM GRANT PARK
A small park in the heart of Downtown Kingston, with a central fountain and a few statues, worth a visit.
A fortress built in 1694 was once located on the site of this small park in the center of Downtown Kingston. The area was transformed into Victoria Park at the end of the last century and a statue of Queen Victoria stood at its center. The queen was replaced by Alexander Bustamante, father of Jamaican independence. Renamed in 1977 in honor of the workers' rights activist Sir William Grant, who organized major strikes, the park has a central fountain and some statues.
