NATIONAL HEROES PARK
Pleasant park with statues, Marcus Garvey's tomb, various interesting monuments and well laid-out play areas.
Once a racetrack, the 30-hectare park welcomes Kingtonian families in well-designed spaces and playgrounds. Here and there, statues of national heroes stand at the bend in the path. The tomb of Marcus Garvey, surmounted by a bust and a black star, is worth mentioning. Other monuments are dedicated to Donald Sangster, Norman Manley, Alexander Bustamante (hero of the Independence), Nanny, the patroness of the Maroons rebels in the Cockpit Country, Samuel Sharpe, Michael Manley... An opportunity to review his history lesson.
