The Institute of Jamaica works to transmit the Jamaican cultural heritage. It brings together museums and cultural institutions all over Kingston and the major cities of the island, including some in its own building: the National Library, the Natural History Museum of Jamaica, the Jamaica Music Museum and the National Museum of Jamaica (NMJ). On the program: history, culture, science, literature through thematic exhibitions (Taino heritage, Rastafari culture, music history) and reading sessions.
