LIME CAY
A small island with beautiful beaches and crystal-clear water, accessible by boat from the center of Port Royal, a great snorkeling spot.
Lime Cay is a tiny island reached by boat from the center of Port Royal. The best plan to go to the beach in Kingston because this sandbar is beautiful, the water crystal clear and the excursion is a real break if you want to get out of the city to forget its urban decor (even if there is waste rejected by the sea). Possibility of snorkeling for those who are equipped with mask, snorkel and fins, the corals are beautiful and the small fishes gravitating around them too. Be warned, there is nothing here, you have to disembark with drinks and picnic and if possible ice cubes (everything is sold in Port Royal before embarking). You have to pay the round trip fee at the Y-Knot bar next to the marina and the Morgan Harbour hotel. If you want to experience a moment of Kingstonian life, go there on a weekend, the islet takes on a festive air with reggae, Red Stripe and rum galore. Be careful, don't miss the last return trip, you'll be forced to spend the night on this islet that looks like a sandbar for castaways! Take the phone number of your boat driver on the way out if possible, he can pick you up by appointment. Be aware that the sea is very rough to go there, so count on 15 to 30 minutes of crossing, but plan this trip only on days with good weather so as not to be disturbed by the swell and the chop. Alternative to this sandbar: the beaches of Hellshire, Fort Clarence and Boardwalk Beach on the other side of the bay.
