FI WI SINTING
Every year, Port Antonio celebrates its African heritage in a whirlwind of dances, concerts, readings, tales and drums.
Every year Port Antonio celebrates its African heritage in a whirlwind of dances, concerts, readings, poetry, storytelling and drumming organized by the eponymous Foundation. You can sing along with Nyabinghi Rastafarians, let yourself go to the trance of Kumina drums that came from the Kongo kingdom in the holds of slave ships, or join groups of mento, the ancestor of reggae and cousin of calypso, and discover the folk culture of the city. Children will be more attracted by the group Jonkonoo and its character Pitchy Patchy who travels in West Africa.
