ALBERT GEORGE MARKET

Market, the largest on the island, with a shopping arcade and a museum displaying domestic objects from another century.
Named after Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, whom she married in 1840, the island's largest market was built in 1896 in response to the city's rapid commercial development at the turn of the last century. Today, the wood and stone structure houses under a zinc roof a market, a commercial gallery and a modest museum that exhibits some domestic objects from another century, jars, cauldron, rum distiller... A nice historical stop between Ochie and Montego Bay.
