In 1685, when the edict of Nantes was revoked, a Protestant French political refugee (huguenot), Martin Rusea again endangered under Louis XIV, came to settle here in Jamaica. His family then left this property to the community of Lucea, thanks for the reception given to him by the population. A Georgian building, which houses a school since 1900, was built in 1843.
