The festival is celebrated on January 6, the anniversary of the birth of the Maroon warrior Cudjoe, who signed the peace treaty with the English colonizers and thus their independence in 1738. During this day, various activities are organized around the heroic life of the Maroons. On the program: songs, dances, music, percussions sounding all day, narrations or cooking. At the end everyone participates in a traditional walk to the Kindah tree where unsalted pork and yams are shared. Then a sound system pulses until the morning.
