It is one of the oldest churches in the Caribbean, dating from 1837. It was built on the ruins of another church. Damaged by the earthquake of 1907, its roof was redone the following year. Its brick walls, columns and mahogany furnishings give it a coquettish air, although its general appearance is massive. It has a clock on its square tower. Sent by mistake to a neighboring parish, which kept them, the three other clocks planned to cover the other sides of the tower never arrived.
