This three-century-old white limestone monument is the oldest surviving remnant of the city. Built in 1817 in a Jamaican Georgian style, it is a delightful contrast to the surrounding modern buildings. Well preserved, it dominates the central square and the park. The discerning amateur will note its beautiful double staircase, its entrance portico supported by Doric style columns, its shutters and its sash windows.
