This is the capital's oldest inn. Right in the middle of Lipscani, this vast caravanserai(han), built in 1808 by a wealthy Armenian merchant by the name of Manuc Bey, was the meeting point for foreign merchants passing through Bucharest (Jews, Turks, Bulgarians, Greeks...). Completely renovated in 2007, it now houses, among other shops, a restaurant serving traditional specialties. But it's above all to enjoy the ambience of the place that you come to sit here, in the central courtyard or under the brick vaults inside.

Pas un des meilleurs endroits pour manger à Bucarest, mais c'est bien, et je le recommande quand même. L'auberge est très connue et a une grande histoire derrière. L'atmosphère est typique, comme autrefois. Un peu cher, mais les plats sont délicieux. Le service était assez rapide pour la quantité de gens qui y était.

Il faut se rendre dans cet établissement une fois pour voir... surtout en individuel car en groupe c'est vraiment l'attrape-touristes... Dommage car le cadre est superbe et l'ambiance dans l'immense cour est festive. Mais en groupe la nourriture est quelconque et de toute façon peu copieuse, et "l'animation folklorique" promise est en fait extrêmement restreinte. Salle à l'étage pour les groupe très sonore.

Par temps chaud, la jolie cour ombragée est agréable. La nourriture est quelconque et le service moyen.
