VIADUC DE LA FOUILLERIE
Magnificent viaduct on the Roche d'Oëtre road and nature break on the hiking trails.
On the sentier des Méandres, the long red-brick viaduct plunges hikers into the region's industrial past. A railway viaduct, it served the Falaise-Berjou line until 1938, on 30 km of one-way track. At the foot of the viaduct stand the remains of the textile mill founded by the Pernelle brothers in 1896, famous for its "Pont des Vers weaving mill". It housed up to 472 looms and a steam engine, of which the tall chimney remains. Cotton bales were transformed into canvas until the factory closed in 1992.
