Museum in Le Molay-Littry proposing a discovery of the history of the miners' life through portraits and testimonies.
Since 2021, after a year of work, the Coal Mine Museum has been modernized and is even more worth a visit. The history of the mine began in 1741, when a farmer discovered a seam of coal in Littry. Two centuries of intense industrial activity followed. Nearly 2,000 miners worked there and more than 2 million tons of coal were extracted. This museum honors you with a reconstituted mine gallery with rails, wagons, miners' testimonies and exceptional pieces, such as the Périer brothers' fire pump, dating from 1800.
