Set back from the old town, in a quiet side street, the 3-star Pension Cardinal is an excellent option. Its rooms are gigantic and elegantly decorated with antiques from different eras: classicism from the 17th century, neo-baroque from the Napoleonic period and, in the attic, the atmosphere of the interwar period. There's also a fine restaurant serving Romanian cuisine. Prices are very affordable, making it one of the best value-for-money restaurants in Sibiu.
