CHURCH MIRĂUŢI
To the northeast of the town center, between the citadel and the ruins of the princely residence(Curtea domnească), stands the Mirăuți church, dedicated to St. George. Built between 1375 and 1391 by order of voivode Petru II Mușat, it is the oldest church in the town. In the early 15th century, it became the first cathedral of the Moldavian bishopric. It was used for the coronation of the princes of Moldavia. Falling into ruin over the centuries, it was used as a warehouse for a time, before being restored at the end of the 19th century and again in the 1990s.
