A picturesque ride not to be missed: this small train pulled by a steam locomotive takes you 12 km through the beautiful Bucovina countryside. Built at the end of the 19th century to transport timber from the forest to the sawmill, this narrow-gauge railway line was in use until 2001. Trains run every weekend and every day in high season. Open-air restaurant at the terminus, in the village of Argel. There is an alternative route from the same station to Vatra Moldoviței (diesel locomotive, 10 km, 2 hrs.).

Voyage spectaculaire à travers la forêt et les gorges du Maramures, sur les traces des anciens bucherons et en compagnie de leurs descendants, toujours en activité, qui empruntent toujours le même vieux train à vapeur de temps en temps, quand la locomotive Diesel est en panne... De la locomotive aux sièges pour les passagers en passant par le poêle à bois dans le wagon, tout est d'époque, superbement restauré. Amenez votre tasse et si vous sympathisez avec le chauffeur, il vous versera de l'eau chaude directement depuis la chaudière de la locomotive. Allez ramasser quelques pousses de sapin, faites infuser et dégustez votre thé de locomotive !!!
