Built by Ştefan cel Mare in 1492, it is the only remnant of the Princely Court, although not much remains of the original. It was indeed demolished and rebuilt almost identically between 1884 and 1904 by the French architect Lecomte du Nouÿ. The princely church of St. Nicholas (biserica Sfântul Nicolae Domnesc) is next to Casa Dosoftei and the Palace of Culture. It was here that the Moldavian princes were crowned, when Iași became the capital of the province.
