This local museum deals with the history of the municipalities of Roskilde and Lejre. It occupies two neighbouring buildings: a former 18th century sugar factory (Sugar House) and a merchant's house (Liebe House). The very modern museum is defined as a living and ethnological museum. It is organized in 8 sections dealing with human and economic activities with beautiful reconstructions. In 2016 opened Le Ragnarock, a section dedicated to Danish rock and contemporary music.
