MONASTIC CHURCH
Go there and contact
This is what remains of the Cistercian Monastery built by Bishop Absalon in 1161. The famous founder of Copenhagen is buried here, with Ludvig Holberg, the'Danish Molière ', and three Danish kings from the th century. In fact, Roskilde was the cathedral of the tombs of the Danish kings only from Margrethe Ire, who died in 1412. She rested in this church of Sorø, as she wished, until her adviser, Bishop of Roskilde, carries her remains in her own church, giving the Roskilde cathedral her vocation as a royal Basilica. Other remnants of the monastery: a door that can be seen at the end of Grand-Rue (Storgade) after the market place. This large door leads to an apartment on the floor, still inhabited. You go under his ark, both on foot and by car, to access the Academy.
