Monastery built in the 1586 th century and became an Academy under the reign of Frederick II. The main building was destroyed by fire in 1862 and replaced by a grey and massive construction. The two nearby, fire-resistant pavilions show what the rococo style of the old Academy should be. One of these buildings, which now houses the administrative staff, was once the house of the romantic poet Ingemann, a professor at the Academy in 1822. A beautiful 30 ha park extends close to the lake. There is a statue of Ludvig Holberg, who was the benefactor of this institution, to which he left much of his fortune. You can visit the former office of the physicist Hauchs and friend of the king of the day, and discover his instruments dating back to the th century.
