SANKT PEDERS CHURCH (SANKT PEDERS KIRKE)
Church with crenellated bell tower in Næstved, featuring a medieval baptismal font and beautiful frescoes.
This massive red-brick church, with its stepped bell tower, a very common form of Danish church, was first built in Romanesque style and then completed in the 14th century in Gothic style. Inside, there is a richly carved pulpit from 1671, a medieval baptismal font and beautiful frescoes, including one depicting King Valdemar Atterdag and Queen Helvig praying. From the outside, the choir is impressive with its large, high stained glass windows.
