KOMPAGNIHUSET
Medieval guild house built in 1493, resembling Flemish houses with crenellated gable facades.
It is the only existing medieval guild house in Denmark. It was built in 1493. Christian IV established Spanish merchants here in the 1620s. The name sometimes used is Peblingehuset. St. Peders Church rented the three stalls in the basement and the ground floor to store building materials. During the trade festival, the house was probably used both as a storehouse and for meetings. This brick building resembles Flemish houses with its crenellated gable facades.
