GAVNØ CASTLE (GAVNØ SLOT)
Superb rococo château belonging to the owner of the private music radio station The Voice to find a collection of paintings.
A haven for pirates in the 13th century, this isolated manor house was transformed into a convent by Queen MargretheI in the late 16th century, then into a superb yellow-and-white rococo château in the 18th century, owned by the proprietor of The Voice, Copenhagen's No. 1 private music radio station. Part of the immense collection of paintings was sold to pay inheritance tax, but many still remain in the part of the castle open to the public.
