SAINT-KNUD CATHEDRAL (SANKT KNUDS KIRKE)
Gothic cathedral featuring a altarpiece and a reliquary of bones attributed to Knud the Saint.
This beautiful gothic structure stands on the edge of a boulevard and a park that slopes down to the river. The exterior is brick, while the interior is bright and immaculately white, providing an incredible contrast. Worth seeing: a 16th century altarpiece by master craftsman Claude Berg, and in the crypt, the reliquary of the bones attributed to Knud the Saint, object of veneration and pilgrimage. The cathedral was built in the 13th century next to the church of Saint Alban, where the canonized king was murdered.
