ANDERSEN'S BIRTHPLACE
It was in this small, yellow corner house in Odense that the famous Hans Christian Andersen was born.
This small yellow corner house, located in what was once Odense's poorest district, was the birthplace of the famous Danish author Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875). Five other families lived there... Purchased by the city in 1908, it opened its doors to the public a few years later. Since then, millions of visitors have come to discover the refurbished rooms of the 72 m² house. Don't forget to reread Andersen's fairy tales before you leave!
