MØNTERGÅRDEN
Museum of history and archaeology, with a permanent exhibition covering the period from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
Møntergården is the museum of history and archaeology in Odense. It is housed in a half-timbered house dating from 1646. Here you can learn all about the history of Fiona and Odense, including a permanent exhibition covering the period from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. The star of the place: the Koelbjerg Man (Koelbjergmanden), more than 10,000 years old, the oldest skull found in Denmark, in 1941. Until recently (2016), scientists thought these remains were those of a woman, hence the sometimes persistent name Koelbjergkvinden.
