TOWN HALL (RÅDHUS)
Town Hall built in 1936 and 1941 to celebrate the anniversary of the Aarhus Charter, hosting guided tours
The building was designed by architect Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) between 1936 and 1941 to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Aarhus Charter. Its exterior walls are clad in 6,000m2 of Norwegian grey marble. The interior is grandiose, with its reception hall and four-storey gallery serving the offices. The view from the top of the tower (60 metres) encompasses the entire city. To get there, you can take the elevator, or the 345 steps! Meet in front of the main entrance on Rådhuspladsen for guided tours.
