In 2025, the ARos museum, which houses international collections of modern and contemporary art, inaugurates James Turrell's Le Dôme.

One of Scandinavia's most important art museums. Inaugurated 20 years ago, in 2004, the "White Diamond" masterfully imposes its cubic shape on the urban landscape. In fact, it's a cylinder within a cube, topped by an iridescent halo since 2018. It's a work by Olafur Eliasson, Your Rainbow Panorama, inside which you circulate, surrounded by the colors of the prism of light. On the top floor, the terrace offers an incredible view of the city. The museum regularly organizes temporary exhibitions of international renown.

No fewer than ten floors are linked by a gigantic spiral staircase to the exhibition rooms. The top floor is devoted to the Golden Age and Danish Modernism (1770-1930), while the lower floors (1, 5 and 6) feature international collections of modern and contemporary art. These include works by Andy Warhol, Danish artist Per Kirkeby, and Ron Mueck's monumental sculpture The Boy - a crouching young man who watches over the museum from a height of 5 meters! Impressively realistic. Or this textile work by Johanna Vasconcelos, Valkyrie Ràn, from 2016. 50 meters of colorful fabric invade the space.

In 2025, the museum inaugurates a new contemporary art space: Le Dôme, a monumental work by artist James Turrell, a skyspace 16 m high and 40 m in diameter with an oculus to observe the sky! A 100m-long corridor will link it to the museum.

Superbe

I visited this museum, beautiful exhibitions but what is remarkable it is its giant contact with under floor: " The Boy " , a symbolic figure of the museum of 5m high representative a squatted child! Remarkable realism!
