DEN GAMLE BY
A museum with a pleasant setting that lets you discover the Denmark of yesteryear through houses from all over the country.
Den Gamle By is an open-air museum of the Denmark of yesteryear. Since 1909, over 75 houses from all over the country have been moved from their original sites and reassembled in this park near the Botanical Gardens. The oldest dates from the Renaissance, the most recent from the Second World War. In Denmark, for a long time, little attention was paid to old houses, preferring in some towns to demolish them, to such an extent that some owners preferred to donate them to this institution in order to ensure their survival.
The tour reconstructs a traditional village, with its neighborhoods dating from 1864 to 2014, its old trades and local shops: you can freely enter any house, although some rooms are protected by glass or a cordon. You're greeted by locals in period costume. Each interior is furnished with authentic pieces corresponding to the style of the house. Kids love it! Time travel is interesting and moving. From the old school to the post office, from the bookshop to the bakery where you can buy delicious traditional cakes "for real".
Numerous artisan workshops are also in operation. The setting is very pleasant, with cobbled streets, courtyards and an aromatic garden. You can have lunch on site (cafés and restaurants are located within the park) and shop for handicrafts. Allow around 2 hours for the visit.

L'endroit est vraiment fascinant surtout le quartier des 70s.
Un must dans la région !
You enter the houses and their recreated interior attracts you. You can see some craftsmen at work. In the streets, horse-drawn carriages should be avoided!
about 3:00 without any problem…
