FRIGATE JYLLAND (FREGATTEN JYLLAND)
This imposing three-master built entirely of oak sailed the Baltic, the Mediterranean and the Danish West Indies.
An imposing three-masted ship, or to be more precise, a frigate, first launched in 1860. Then the largest warship in the Danish Navy, built entirely of oak. Jylland sailed the Baltic, the Mediterranean and to the Danish West Indies. Left to decay, she was towed from Copenhagen to Ebeltoft in 1960. Inside, you can almost hear the screams of the sailors at their galley berths, as this sailing ship was also rowed.
